2009 Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County Golf Challenge Filling Up with Foursomes!

2009 Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County Golf Challenge Filling Up with Foursomes!HOBE SOUND, FL - The tee time has long been set for Wednesday, May 6, 2009 and the field is filling up with foursomes for the annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County Golf Challenge. Players from both Amateur and Pro-Am team divisions will tee off at 9:00 a.m. for the shotgun start and enjoy 18 holes of golf at the exclusive Jupiter Island Club, followed by an awards ceremony with lunch on the patio.

The 2009 Golf Challenge is featuring a different format than previous years, with the goal of generating some friendly competition between the Professionals at local Golf Clubs. The tournament will consist of two divisions: an Amateur team division and an Invitational Pro-Am team division.

Many area clubs including Jupiter Island Club, Loblolly Pines, Willoughby Golf Club and Mariner Sands Golf Club have confirmed teams in the Pro-Am division, and as the date nears, participation is expected to increase. The Amateur team division, which is open to everyone, is also growing rapidly.

“We are very excited about the level of interest from local clubs and golf enthusiasts,” said Paul Emmi, Jupiter Island Club Head Golf Professional. “It’s going to be a great competition and a lot of fun for the men and ladies in both team divisions (Amateur and Pro-Am).”

The goal of this year’s tournament is to raise much needed monies to support the developmental and character-building programs at all five branches of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County. The Clubs support thousands of children throughout Martin County, providing a positive place for kids to learn and thrive through a variety of educational, recreational, and cultural programs and activities.

The entry fee is $350 per player. Sponsorship opportunities for the Golf Challenge are also still available. For more information or to RSVP, please contact Juliet Ciaravino at the Boys & Girls Clubs at (772) 545-2262 or jciaravino@bgcmcfl.org.
