A W.I.L.D. Day of Activities Offers Local Women a Fun and Meaningful Adventure
W.I.L.D. Outdoors will be more than wild. It will be an exciting one-day event for women to have an adventure, learn more about the natural environment that surrounds them, and build friendships with other like-minded women. The W.I.L.D. acronym stands for Women Involved in Learning and Discovering.
The November 5 event is sponsored by the Inner Truth Project, a local nonprofit organization offering outreach and services to survivors of sexual violence. The day-long activities include archery, hiking, bee keeping, clay shooting, wood working, camping basics, line dancing and self-defense. Participants will gather at the beautiful Mancil Ranch in Martin County for breakfast, take part in four hours of classes during morning and afternoon sessions, and bond over lunch.
“This is going to be a fun event,” said Inner Truth founder and director Mindi Fetterman, “but it’s also a learning experience. Women need to know basic skills like starting a campfire and protecting themselves from an attacker. There’s no better way to learn these things than with a group of women intent on supporting each other.”
Profits from W.I.L.D. Outdoors will go toward programs that provide support and counseling to survivors of sexual violence throughout the Treasure Coast community. Alissa Haddad Scott, the Chair of the event, said, “I’m personally excited at the new things I expect to learn at W.I.L.D. Outdoors and even more delighted at this chance to help more of our community know about the important services of the Inner Truth Project.”
The Fetterman Law Group is the Presenting Sponsor for W.I.L.D. Outdoors, along with these generous community sponsors: Dyer Chevrolet, Ashley Capital, Gunster Law Firm, Van Vonno Consulting, Zarro Mortgage Group, FPL, Seacoast Bank, Rubin and Rubin Law Firm, and the St. Lucie Fair Association.
