2022 Florida Ranches Calendar to highlight conservation efforts of Florida Wildlife Corridor

Posted on September 1, 2021

Florida’s cattle ranches are economic powerhouses, leaders in environmental stewardship and the caretakers of breathtakingly beautiful landscapes.

Now in its seventeenth year of production, the award-winning Florida Ranches Calendar will once again use stunning photographs coupled with informative descriptions to tell the story of these ranches and the vital role they serve in the conservation of some of Florida’s most precious environmental resources.

Since the calendar’s inception, it has featured the talents of award-winning photojournalist and eighth generation Floridian Carlton Ward Jr.  The 2022 Ranches Calendar will continue to feature Ward’s photography, along with the photography of Adam Bass with Conservation Florida and the winners of a statewide photo contest.

“The Florida Ranches Calendar is a year-long reminder that ranchers are our state’s oldest environmental stewards, and their lands are a critical part of the green infrastructure that is the foundation of Florida’s economy and quality of life,” said Stacy Weller Ranieri, president of The Firefly Group and publisher of the calendar.

The 2022 calendar will focus on ranches located within the Florida Wildlife Corridor. The corridor connects notable lands and waters into a viable network that will help protect Florida wildlife and preserve critical parts of Old Florida into the future. The Florida legislature funded land acquisition at $400 million in 2021, and that infusion of funds will make significant strides toward protecting the Wildlife Corridor. Partnerships at every level are needed to ensure its successful completion.

“Conservation Florida is honored to serve as Presenting Sponsor of the 2022 Florida Ranches Calendar,” said Traci Deen, CEO of Conservation Florida. “Our nonprofit organization works with ranching families across the State to help conserve their working land, and we’re very proud of that.  Year after year, this calendar showcases the importance of keeping ranches ranching, highlights their conservation value and exhibits the beauty found on our ranching landscapes.”
